The material for the study in this article was the samples of such functional styles as colloquial speech, newspaper journalistic style and scientific style, so it is necessary to dwell on their characteristics in more detail. It is known that the problem of differentiating linguistic styles is very difficult, since the features of one linguistic style are partially repeated not only in another or other linguistic styles, but are also characteristics of the literary language itself in general.
