The article considers the second most frequently used model of a polypredicative sentence with parataxis and hypotaxis in English poetic texts, namely, a construction consisting of several hypotactic complexes. An analysis of proposals consisting of two hypotactic complexes shows that there is a tendency to maximize the volume of one of the complexes in the presence of a second complex of a simple structure
